I thought it would be a letdown since the window collapsed, but it's still a great place. Gorgeous sea, cliffs, and fun scrambling across the rocks to new views. Highly recommended.
Improper name, "Azure Window Ruins", as there are no actual identifiable ruins. But the name is probably used in lieu of a new, better one. Plus, it would make an easier transition to just "Azure-ish sea landscape", or whichever name would settle in, eventually. Of course, it's disappointing that you can't see the window anymore once you get there, but the views over the wild, rocky shores are, however, thrilling - especially on a windy day, with big, breaking waves.
It is worth visiting Gozo just for this place. It is a tricky rock climb to get the best view so wear sensible shoes. I was lucky enough to see it when the window was still in tact and it was a beauty.
The azure window is not there anymore. From a tourist attraction it has become an underwater attraction. Divers can still see the base of the Piller. The caves and the waters look awesome.
Magnificent place full with old ruins. Old artefacts from an old coral reef. A lot of places to take pictures and catch the beauty of the nature. There is a good restaurant very handy in case you would like to have a meal. A place ideal for avanturists.
Beautiful. Amazing for exploration or for photography. Also i would highly recommend you stay for the sunset.
You will feel relaxed..must visit
It's a nice place - especially the circular bay to the left (the one behind the Fungus Island). Besides, one should note there is no longer the Azure Window - it crashed into the water.
the window collapsed 2 years ago, but the inland sea is still accessible (unless there's wind coming from the north-western direction). It's still worth a visit, especially because the fishermen doing the boat tour are pointing out a lot of interesting things.
The Azure Window doesn't exist anymore as it was destroyed by bad weather but the Blue Hole was amazing and absolutely recommendable to see. The only bad thing about it was that there were too many people although we were there early in the morning. There are also many many divers. But if you wait long enough you will probably get the opportunity for some nice pictures without anybody on them.
Great place on Gozo to see and feel the Mediterranean sea. Although the window is not available anymore the place generally features wide views of the island cliffs and the sea, a refreshing breeze and picturesque spots. Bring sturdy shoes though, to walk around more securely.
Amazing place to dive/swim. The tunnel to the ocean is unique and well worth the short drive. Plenty of food and drink options around as well as clean toilets.
Been there, I even swimmed in and out through the azure window. I must consider myself lucky because now is no more.
Lovely place to enjoy the blueness of the sea and the crashing and splashing of the waves against the rock. Relatively good indents for hopping on and off the rocks. Plenty of parking, ice cream stalls only take cash and the ladies bathroom was not clean (no soap either)
We don't have the Azure window anymore but still Dwejra is a beautiful place to visit and explore
Although the famous window has fallen, place is still fascinating, beautiful landscape, very nice rocky shore and interesting inner sea connecting with main sea through a cave. Must see place none the less
Well what can you say, the ruins are visible below the waterline! We took a boat from nearby Inland sea, through the tunnel and round the coast. The trip takes 15 minutes and was great fun.
Not window now, just half frame. Still very nice and very windy. Take your pictures enjoy the Got set. Then go dive in the little bay inside. Warmer water lots of sea life and there you got a "window" to the sea 🌊
Very nice craggy scenery. Lots of divers around. The azure window is obviously not there any more as it got washed away but still worth a visit.
Still gorgeous and a very special place in my heart as I visited there with my late grandfather whom we also scattered there. The Azure window may be gone but it’s an important reminder to the finality of things. And the while area has this kind of magic to it, whether it’s nostalgia or a first time visit.
It is a very nice place. You can walk along the coast or hike up to see the cliffs on the other side of the bay. I recommend to go in the afternoon an watch the sunset. The atmosphere and the light is just breathtaking.
Great place to take photos of waves crashing into rocks. The area has isn't here any longer.Access is easy, keep an eye on younger children who might go too near the edges.
Nice place to visit but can envisage it being packed in the Summer with coaches arriving all the time. Best tip; take the small boat through the cave to Blue Grotto. Bumpy ride as can get rough but for 4 euros its the best value 30 minute boat ride. Great scenery. Nice icecream/coffee stall. Restaurant. Toilets. Church. Fort. Divers. Highly recommended.
unfortunate that the window collapsed but the ruins still provide a very picturesque view. The rocky formations are pretty remarkable and makes you wonder how they formed to be as such. You will experience a lot of boat traffic in the area leading you to have to wait to capture that “perfect” shot at times. Nevertheless, if you chartered a boat, it is nice area to anchor and have a swim and the incredibly blue waters.
Best place to experience the freshness and amazing blend of blue sky and water. Also if you a photo photo person then it's a must visit place as it gives you very good photo backgrounds.Don't think that the window is fallen so what's d use, trust me and do visit you will experience something very nice environment.
The Little bay next to it is really there to be enjoyed. You can hike down a little bit be careful
Absolutely beautiful.. Can spend easily half a day.If u are taking hop on hop off,I would say dont waste time at other stops.
When i go in gozo i never mis a dive here in this blue waters.
Nice place to take great shots
The Azure area is a great area for a day at the rocky beach. Boat rides, fossils, the ruin of where the window once was, and a very cool rock formation with a deep pit to swim in, and reefs for snorkeling. Also home to the inland see and fungus rock. Scuba diving available at 45 euros, 4 euro per person boat tour around the caves.
Amazing place with the deep blue hole and the tunnel... go for it!
Beautiful and serene part of Gozo: found this quite accidentally as part of a mystery tour with friends!
One of most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life and I've seen many places. You definitely need to visit it, and make some photos. Trust me, you won't regret coming here.
It is gone but still beautiful place
Cool rock formations but the actual window has fallen, so it’s not really worth going all the way there :/
It's a shame that now there are only the ruins of what once was a "window" but anyway, it's a very good landmark to visit and in the summer also for swimming.
Best thing to visit in Gozo.... please go here if you love and want to be with nature
Nothing special, neither before, nor after it fell. The sea around it is nice instead
This window is no longer there, unfortunately a few years ago it was collapsed. There are a few food stalls and a restaurant. Parking is limited. You can go up or down the hill to get the desired views. Water here is really nice. Be mindful of rocks they are very rugged and not so comfortable to walk over, so you might need good shoes for that.
Would recommend it if you go to Gozo. It's called the inland sea. You can get a great tour out to the Mediterranean through a gap in the cliff. To me it was better than the Blue Grotto tour on Malta.
Nice place and beautiful scenery
